I’m more than willing to share how I got my life back into balance, but I always take a deep breath when someone begins the ‘how did you do it?’ line of questioning. They tend to fixate on the physical changes in me and want the same for themselves. Some think that weighing less is the magic bullet to happiness and will solve all their problems. Quite often, their eyes begin to glaze over and I know I’ve lost them when I underscore the unavoidable aspects of self-esteem, movement, and feeling with awareness. There’s work ahead and I love you too much to mislead you. Wouldn’t you rather have the truth anyway? It’s the only thing that will set you free.
