If there’s one thing I know for sure after being here 61 years, it is that people will let you down. Count on it.

Maybe it’s part of the human experience, because I haven’t been immune to disappointing others.

I’m not writing this as a rebuke, but rather, a cautious reminder not to put all your eggs in the basket labeled Homo Sapien. At best, we are good people endeavoring to be less flawed; and on the other end of the spectrum, we embrace with gusto, greed, mean-spiritedness, and blind self-centeredness.

Better to put your Faith in yourself first and foremost. And if you Believe, in the infallible Power of the Creator.
